After the conversation

Return to the words, then pull out what matters.

Saved sessions keep audio and bilingual text together. When you explicitly request an AI summary, the current transcript is sent for that request and the result is saved with the record.

Saved-session tools

Keep the bilingual record useful after interpretation.

Replay both audio tracks

Return to the source recording or successfully generated interpreted audio alongside the captions.

Generate an AI summary

Send the current transcript only after you explicitly request a summary for the saved session.

Search, export, and share

Find a saved record, copy text, and export the content you are authorized to use.

How it works

Three steps from speech to replay.

Choose a language pair, connect a private audio output, and save the session when the conversation ends.

01

Choose the source and languages

Use the microphone, conversation mode, or supported Mac system audio, then select an available language pair.

02

Listen and follow captions

Source text, translation, and interpreted audio arrive throughout the network-connected session.

03

Save, replay, and summarize

Keep the bilingual record, revisit bookmarks, export permitted content, or request an AI summary.

When understanding cannot wait until later.

Clear processing boundaries

Live interpretation is connected. Saved records remain local.

Live interpretation sends the source audio you choose to capture and required protocol information to Volcano Engine’s Doubao service to generate captions, translation, and interpreted audio. Local records stay in app storage; allowance records sync through your private iCloud database.

Questions, answered

What live speech interpretation means in practice.

Is XB Live Interpreter a human interpreter?

No. Captions, translation, interpreted audio, speaker labels, and summaries are automated and can contain delays, errors, or omissions.

Does live interpretation require the internet?

Yes. Microphone, conversation, and Mac system-audio interpretation send the selected source audio to the live interpretation provider during the session.

Why are headphones required for interpreted audio?

Interpreted audio plays through headphones, Bluetooth, USB audio, or another private output to reduce the chance of speaker audio feeding back into the microphone.

Which languages are supported?

Available pairs use Chinese or English on one side and cover Chinese, English, German, French, Spanish, Indonesian, Japanese, and Portuguese. The in-app language screen is authoritative.

What does it cost?

The app is a free download with In-App Purchases. New users receive 10 minutes without automatic charging. The Weekly Pass includes 500 minutes per week; price, currency, and renewal details appear in the App Store.

What is saved after a session?

You can save source recording, successfully generated interpreted audio, source text, translation, timestamps, and bookmarks in local app storage.

Can it interpret Mac system audio?

On Mac, you can choose an allowed source with Apple’s picker. Protected, call-related, muted, or unavailable audio may not work, and XB Live Interpreter does not save screen video.

When is an AI summary sent?

Only after you explicitly request generation for a saved record. Merely opening the summary page does not send the transcript.
